Elevating communities to new heights
The Continental’s refurbishment played a central role in the Opportunity Housing Partnership Project (OHP), aimed at assisting individuals who have experienced prolonged homelessness. Rockwise took on the responsibility of serving as the owner’s representative for all three properties involved in the OHP initiative. In this capacity, Rockwise aided in adhering to project timelines and bolstered Aeon in efficient budget management to ensure that enhancements maximized the potential within the designated funding.
Originally erected in 1910 as an apartment hotel, the Continental boasts a distinguished status on the National Register of Historic Places. The structure primarily targeted single individuals, as well as married couples without children. Notably, the individual units lacked separate kitchens; instead, occupants dined at a communal restaurant within the premises.
Comprehensive renovations were executed, encompassing meticulous restoration of both the exterior and interior, alongside the introduction of new resident lounges and the implementation of contemporary ventilation systems.
