Expanding tribal health services

Rockwise provided Seven Generations Architecture & Engineering with a Schematic Design estimate and a Design Development estimate for a new two-story health clinic for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. This health clinic encompasses a variety of health services under one roof, including general practice, dental operatory, pharmacy, imaging and radiology, lab, physical therapy, behavioral health, public health, and family services.

The building features a structural steel frame with a mixture of composite panels, brick, and curtain wall for the façade. A focal point of the building is a grand two-story atrium off the entry that provides a clear line of sight from the front to the back of the building. The building’s mechanical and electrical systems were designed to meet the high sustainability standards of the tribe.
