Centralizing innovation for manufacturing education
This project entails the addition of approximately 9,055 gross square feet (GSF) across two levels to the west end of the Lake Superior College main campus. The new space is designated for welding and CNC machine tool programs, featuring insulated precast walls and a 4-ply built-up roof. Additionally, a remodel of approximately 19,229 GSF, spanning two levels in the existing main campus adjacent to the addition, is planned. The first floor will host the manual machine tool, robotics, and prototype inspection programs, as well as tool storage and offices, while the second level will be transformed into a CAD lab and computer lab/classroom.
